I highly recommend Sherrill Sellman’s Hormone Heresy for every woman who strives to make informed choices about her health and desires harmony and balance in her life. I first became aware of Sherrill Sellman and her book, Hormone Heresy through a trusted friend and wellness advisor. Having begun the process of perimenopause in my early 40s, I was overwhelmed by the inconsistencies in information from my gynecologist, my family physician and periodicals. Reading Sherrill Sellman’s book and listening to her explanation of what women must know about their hormones, I now have the control and clarity I have longed for since the onset of my menopausal symptoms.

Sellman has uncovered the myths and revealed the untold stories of hormones and their effect on the female body. Her explanation of estrogen and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) demonstrates the abundance of propaganda that originates from pharmaceutical manufacturers who are directly influencing doctors and their patients. In contrast to most of the information presented to women, Sellman documents why many of the diseases of the female reproductive system are not the result of estrogen deficiency but rather the abundance of estrogen in the body.

This revelation brought tears to my eyes as I realized why years of suffering with PMS, endometriosis and early menopausal symptoms are all related and the result of excess estrogen in my body. Sellman confirmed my decision to avoid the Pill and traditional HRT and instead begin balancing my body with natural progesterone.
