Women Beware of Estrogen Dominance

Mary has worked full time while raising three children and is suffering with insomnia and night sweats for a few months now even though she is far from menopause; Joanne, a busy stock broker, has such heavy periods she is locked in her house for seven days every month; and Melinda, newly married with an exciting job is losing her hair, gaining weight around the middle, and feeling exhausted. All three women are suffering from a common condition in Canadian women—estrogen dominance.

We are being bombarded by environmental estrogens. These are man-made chemicals that act like estrogen in the body. Estrogen-mimickers are found in everything from plastics, cosmetics, pesticides, dry cleaning chemicals, dairy products and more. Too much estrogen can upset the delicate balance of hormones in the body. Some of the most common estrogen dominant conditions that affect women are endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, cystic breasts, heavy periods, low thyroid, hormonal acne, severe menopausal symptoms, breast cancer and the list goes on. Over 20 percent of Canadians have low thyroid. Too much estrogen can block the uptake of thyroid hormone promoting low thyroid.

We need estrogen but not the toxic type of estrogen found in the environment. Women are supplied with estrogen from their ovaries, adrenal glands and fat cells. When the ovaries shut down at menopause the adrenal glands and fat cells are the main source. The liver is the key organ for processing and distributing estrogen. When our liver becomes sluggish due to poor diet and alcohol; and our adrenal glands become exhausted from too much stress our healthy estrogen production suffers. Combine that with all the environmental estrogens and women develop the conditions above.

De-Stress Your Adrenals
We can nourish the adrenal glands with the following key herbs found in AdrenaSense while reducing our stress levels and ensuring adequate sleep and rest. Take melatonin 3mg at bedtime to help aid sleep.

Rhodiola increases resistance of the body to chemical, biological and physical stressors. Rhodiola enhances mental and physical performance. It has been proven to enhance the immune system and to have antidepressant and anti-tumor activity. Studies also show that Rhodiola regulates the heart by increasing oxygen utilization.

Suma is called "para todo" which means "for everything". It is considered a regenerative tonic for the nervous, reproductive and digestive systems and is used to treat hormonal disorders, sexual dysfunction, sterility, arteriosclerosis, fatigue, diabetes, cancer and many types of stress.

Siberian Ginseng is not actually a ginseng but it is called one because of similar properties. It would more accurately be called by its Latin name, 'Eleuthro'. It has been shown to normalize reactions to physical and mental stress and increase the body's ability to withstand adverse conditions such as heat, noise, increases in workload and physical endurance. It promotes vital energy, reduces frequency of illness, protects against environmental pollutants, regulates blood-sugar, protects the liver, and supports optimal adrenal function.

Schizandra Berries is commonly used as a general tonic and to promote liver health. It counters the effects of stress and fatigue. Studies show it has normalizing effects in cases of insomnia, nervousness and improves physical endurance, mental capability and is liver-protective. It has also been found to have antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

Ashwagandha is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine, the medical system of India. It is used primarily as a general tonic to increase energy and to improve overall health and longevity. Studies have proven the powerful anti-stress effects as well as the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, anti-tumor properties as well as the immune modulating properties. Ashwagandha has been shown to improve sexual performance, have calming effects on the central nervous system, and overall rejuvenating effects. It has also been shown to increase T4 thyroid hormone action.

Support Your Thyroid
Because the adrenal glands and the thyroid are directly linked once the adrenals become exhausted the thyroid does not make enough thyroid hormone. The following nutrients have been found to help support the thyroid. They are found in ThyroSense and can be taken along with thyroid medicines.

L-Tyrosine is an amino acid necessary for the manufacture of thyroid hormones.

Ashwagandha supports the thyroid gland. Studies show that it enhances thyroid function and produces a significant increase in T4 thyroid hormone. Guggal extract and Ashwagandha should be used together to support thyroid health.

Guggal extract supports complete thyroid health while enhancing the conversion of T4 hormone to the more potent T3 hormone.

Pantothenic Acid supports the adrenal glands, increases energy, helps you better handle stressful situations and reduces cellulite.

Iodine is essential for the manufacture of thyroid hormones.

Balance Hormones
We must avoid as many products containing environmental estrogens. Detoxification of these estrogens is also important. Saunas, dry brushing, along with eating organic foods can help and add EstroSense the key nutrient formula for eliminating excess estrogens, encouraging healthy estrogen metabolism while shrinking abnormal cell growths throughout the body. Estrosense is a gift to women. Our periods become normal, our skin stops breaking out, we ovulate properly and PMS is a thing of the past.

Mary found relief from her insomnia and night sweats within a few days by using AdrenaSense and melatonin. Joanne is relieved that after only 2 months of taking Estrosense her periods are now 4 days and normal. And Melinda's started taking Thyrosense and her hair stopped falling out and the weight is now coming off effortlessly.
