Forskolin
Forskolin
Forskolin, from the herb
Coleus forskohlii
, increases the levels of the cellular messenger cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate (cAMP) which is a major regulator of fat-burning enzymes and a messenger that reacts with certain hormones to direct metabolic changes inside cells. Forskolin supplements are a must for those interested in boosting their fatburning rate. Once cAMP is formed inside cells it stimulates other enzymes that activate additional enzymes (a domino effect). As such, a little cAMP goes a long way; it is increased by high glucagon levels and reduced by high insulin levels. It also stimulates the thyroid hormones catecholamines and glucagon to perform their fat-burning jobs and other metabolic processes.
The release of fatty acids from fat cells is controlled by the activity of the enzyme known as hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL) which is dependent on the intracellular cAMP levels. cAMP is also increased by catecholamines such as adrenaline and noradrenaline. Take a divided dose of 100 mg of
Coleus forskohlii
standardized to contain 10 percent forskolin (10 mg of forskolin) twice a day.
